Delete Your Data

Your data, your choice. You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the We're Cooked app at any time.

How to Delete Your Account

Follow these steps to permanently delete your account and all data from We're Cooked:

📱 In the We're Cooked App:

  1. Open the We're Cooked app on your device
  2. Tap on your Profile tab (bottom right)
  3. Tap the Settings gear icon (top right)
  4. Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your decision when prompted

⚠️ This action is permanent. Once you delete your account, all your data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. This includes your recipes, posts, comments, likes, and friend connections.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  1. Account Information: Email, username, display name, profile photo, and bio
  2. Recipes: All saved and imported recipes
  3. Social Data: Posts, comments, likes, and star ratings
  4. Connections: Friend relationships and friend requests
  5. Notifications: All notification history
  6. Usage Data: Recipe extraction counts and subscription history

Data Deletion Timeline

Your data will be deleted immediately upon confirmation. Some data may be retained in our backup systems for up to 30 days before being permanently purged. We do not retain any personally identifiable information after this period.

Alternative: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app or need assistance, you can request account deletion by emailing us:

Please include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 business days and confirm once your data has been deleted.
